At the Laboratory of Coatings and Nanostructures of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, we offer advanced surface analysis services using X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS).

This technique provides detailed chemical and electronic information about the outermost layers of a material, typically within the first few nanometers. It is essential in the development and optimization of functional materials across many fields.

On-demand XPS Measurements

Elemental identification (excluding H and He), determination of oxidation states, elemental quantification, and depth profiling via sputtering.

Data Interpretation and Analysis

Quantitative analysis of XPS spectra through least-squares fitting, using appropriate physico-chemical models to deconvolute peaks, backgrounds, and satellites. The interpretation is carried out with rigorous scientific criteria, supported by extensive experience in surface analysis.

Scientific Reporting

We deliver customized technical or scientific reports, ranging from concise summaries for industrial clients to in-depth analyses suitable for research publications or R&D projects.
